First Week of Kindergarten

We made it through the first very busy week of Kindergarten.  We have learned so much in the first three days!   We are working on establishing routines and expectations as well as learning to work together.  From how to be safe on the playground to how to walk in the halls, every minute was filled with new learning!  So far, we have introduced Writer's Workshop, Independent Reading, Shared Reading and done math lessons on sorting and measurement.  We have practiced putting our backpacks away and chairs down.    We are working hard on raising our hand and being good listeners.  You probably have some very tired kiddos!

Just a few things to keep in mind for next week.

*Please sign up for Assessment Day by following the link on the right side of this blog.

*We will be going to the computer lab soon, so please send in headphones labeled with your child's name, if you have not already doe so (no earbuds please).
*Some kids are getting their snack and their lunch mixed up.  If you could pack the snack separately, that would help.  Maybe in a sack or plastic bag.  Remember, we only have a few minutes for snack time, so keep it quick and healthy.  Of course, they may always choose to finish their lunch at this time.
*** *Please sign up for my Remind account if you have not already done so. Text  @kindercubw to 81010.  You will then receive a confirmation e-mail.  This is very important!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your children with me this year!  I look forward to getting to know them and am excited for all the learning we will do together!  Have a great weekend!
